Locker Distribution Update for April 2 and 3

Dear Sinaloa Families,

You may already be aware that schools are expected to remain closed for the remainder of the year. We are still planning on having students come on campus to remove personal effects and critical learning materials according to a schedule by students' last names:

A-F 8:00-9:00
G-N 9:00-10:00
O-Z 10:00-11:00

I must stress that clearing out lockers is NOT required. All teachers are planning on making learning materials available digitally, and no student will be penalized during distance learning for lack of materials left on site. In other words, if you do not feel it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to come to campus to clear out the locker, you DO NOT HAVE TO COME. If, at a later date, you or your student determine it is necessary to access the contents of the locker, administrative staff will support you in having access to those items.

If you choose to come to access lockers, note the following:
1. Social distancing will be strictly enforced. Staff will direct students to maintain a safe distance in line, in the quad, and as they exit the campus.
2. Staff will be limiting the number of students in the quad. Students should plan to wait in line at either the east or west gates (on either side of the D building).
3. Students will be directed to exit through the double doors in the center of the D building.

At no point will loitering or socializing be allowed. While we understand and respect students' desire to connect with friends they may see, student and public health and safety will be our priority. If you choose to come tomorrow or Friday, please encourage your student to respect the expectations of social distancing, go directly to their locker, gather what they need, and exit through the double doors and meet you in your car.

Note - because textbooks are not required for distance learning, you and your student have the option to leave them in their lockers if they are already there. You will not be asked to retrieve them for the rest of the year, and in fact, if the textbooks are still in the locker at the end of the year, we will simply check them in for you at a later date. DO NOT bring textbooks from home to leave in lockers. We will arrange for textbook returns at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out BEFORE coming to campus.

Stay home, stay safe, and thank you for your understanding and patience at this time.

Warm regards,
Bradley Torti, Principal
Sinaloa Middle School
