Dear Sinaloa Parents/Guardians:

You were recently notified by our school district’s coordinator of curriculum and assessment about our upcoming California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), and the California Science Test (CAST). In the event that you missed this communication, please use this LINK to review the correspondence. The aforementioned letter to parents/guardians has very detailed information about testing and our administration team encourages you to read the communication carefully. This letter is intended to discuss specific information for Sinaloa Middle School students and their parents/guardians.

Important 8th Grade Promotion Information

Our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is on June 6th at 8:30 AM. Before that very special day we will also have 8th grade promotion activities such as the Portfolio Day on May 23rd, the Magic Mountain Trip on June 3rd and the 8th Grade Promotion Practice and Picnic on June 5th. 

All 8th graders will need to meet the Promotion requirements to be eligible to participate in these activities or the Promotion Ceremony. 

1. Earn a passing grade (semester grade) in at least nine of their twelve classes during 8th grade. At least 4 of those passing grades must be earned as final grades for the second semester

2. Earn no more than one (1) U in citizenship as a final grade for the 2nd semester.

3. Earn no administrative U’s; referrals to the office, suspensions, or truancies may result in an administrative U.

Current Student Course Registration:

STUDENTS IF YOU HAVEN'T TURNED IN YOUR REGISTRATION FOR NEXT YEAR PLEASE DO THIS ASAP.

Counselors are now going to our current 6th and 7th grade elective classes to complete the registration process with our Sabers. Your student needed to complete a Google Form of their choices. This form is EDITABLE. You will get a copy of what they chose to the email your student inputs. (we ask them to input parent email addresses). The parent copy will have instructions for how to edit, due dates, and how to contact the counselor with questions.

Health Office Requirements for the 2024/25 school year

Parents and guardians, please confirm that your student has

the age appropriate vaccinations as required by the

California Department of Public Health. The link below

provides complete information on current vaccination

requirements and information on how to create a digital

record of your child’s vaccination through California

Immunization Records (CAIR). All of our current 6th graders

are due to receive a Tdap booster prior to 7th grade entry by

May 1st, 2024. Proof of immunization needs to be submitted

to your current school health office.

Permission slips are now available in the office
for Sinaloa students who want to attend the dance.
Signed permission slips are due to the office
no later than Tuesday, April 23rd.
 
Students will NOT be able to attend the dance
without a signed permission slip. The dance is 
free to all Sinaloa students who are eligible to
attend due to grades, behavior and attendance.
