Important 8th Grade Promotion Information


Our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is on June 6th at 8:30 AM. Before that very special day we will also have 8th grade promotion activities such as the Portfolio Day on May 23rd, the Magic Mountain Trip on June 3rd and the 8th Grade Promotion Practice and Picnic on June 5th. 

All 8th graders will need to meet the Promotion requirements to be eligible to participate in these activities or the Promotion Ceremony. 

1. Earn a passing grade (semester grade) in at least nine of their twelve classes during 8th grade. At least 4 of those passing grades must be earned as final grades for the second semester

2. Earn no more than one (1) U in citizenship as a final grade for the 2nd semester.

3. Earn no administrative U’s; referrals to the office, suspensions, or truancies may result in an administrative U.

Requesting Portfolio Day Volunteers

This year our presentations are scheduled for May 23rd, starting at 8:30am and going through about 2:00 pm. Your participation for any part of this time is deeply appreciated. We rely on community volunteers to meet, listen to, and give feedback to our promoting 8th graders as they move into high school.

Students will present digital portfolios of their recent learning, reflect on what they have learned at Sinaloa, and how it will prepare them for the future. Interviewers will be provided a rubric to reflect on student interviews and portfolios, which will be summitted to Sinaloa staff at the end of the day.

Volunteers will be treated to an orientation upon arrival, as well as light breakfast, lunch, snacks, and breaks throughout the time they are available to join us. 


We would appreciate a response by May 3, 2024.  Thank you in advance for your support of our students at Sinaloa Middle School.

Current Student Course Registration:


Counselors are now going to our current 6th and 7th grade elective classes to complete the registration process with our Sabers. Your student needed to complete a Google Form of their choices. This form is EDITABLE. You will get a copy of what they chose to the email your student inputs. (we ask them to input parent email addresses). The parent copy will have instructions for how to edit, due dates, and how to contact the counselor with questions.

Health Office Requirements for the 2024/25 school year

Parents and guardians, please confirm that your student has

the age appropriate vaccinations as required by the

California Department of Public Health. The link below

provides complete information on current vaccination

requirements and information on how to create a digital

record of your child’s vaccination through California

Immunization Records (CAIR). All of our current 6th graders

are due to receive a Tdap booster prior to 7th grade entry by

May 1st, 2024. Proof of immunization needs to be submitted

to your current school health office.
